Your generous donations will help the Dr. Shirley Davis Foundation make a significant and lasting impact in the lives of marginalized and underrepresented individuals and communities!
This pillar focuses on supporting and enhancing the professional opportunities available to historically marginalized and underrepresented emerging leaders.
Within this pillar, programs such as The Career Academy and The Career Closet exists to offer a range of career services and development opportunities as well as a professional wardrobe for business-specific endeavors to help participants thrive and excel in their chosen fields.
In The Career Academy, participants receive personalized coaching and mentorship as well as guidance and support to navigate their career paths effectively. They gain access to industry professionals who offer insights, advice, and networking opportunities, helping them build valuable connections and expand their professional networks. The program also offers workshops and training sessions focused on skill development in areas such as leadership, communication, and strategic thinking. These workshops equip participants with the tools and knowledge needed to excel in their roles and contribute to their organizations’ success.
The Career Closet is a free resource that emphasizes the importance of positive self-image and first impressions. Participants will have access to a community closet equipped with professional attire, shoes, and accessories. Participants can utilize this resource for upcoming job interviews, special events, high-stakes meetings, and other approved professional needs.
The Career Closet promotes personal confidence and enables participants to overcome challenges, embrace new opportunities, and reach their full potential.
Our Career Closet is held twice per year.
